Seattle police detectives are investigating a fatality collision into a building in West Queen Anne this morning.
At 2:48 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to a collision near Elliott Avenue West and West Galer Street. They located a single occupant inside the vehicle. The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and pronounced the driver deceased.
Police cordoned off the area while SFD worked to extricate the deceased man. An investigator with the King County Medical Examiner arrived and took custody of the body. They will determine the cause of death. Detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigations Squad arrived and processed the collision scene.
The 41-year-old driver was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on 15th Avenue West when he lost control of his vehicle when the roadway turns into Elliott Avenue West. The vehicle struck a parked car just north of West Galer Street before crashing into a concrete building in the 1400 block of Elliott Avenue West.
