Boil Water Order Continues in Village of Leonore

A boil water order continues in the Village of Leonore Sunday due to a water main break Saturday night. The main break caused water pressures to drop below 20 pounds per square inch (psi) in portions of the village's water distribution system. The main break was repaired late Saturday night by an Illinois American Water crew and water pressure is being restored throughout the system.

During the boil order, customers should bring their water to a rolling boil for five minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, washing and other common uses.

When the boil water order is lifted, impacted customers will receive a phone call from Illinois American Water after tests confirm the water meets all regulated quality standards.

The boil water order impacts approximately 67 customers in the Village of Leonore.
