Record Breaking K Pop Group BABYMONSTER Debut New Single “Forever”

Monday, July 1 (NEW YORK, NY) - Today, YG Entertainment's rising K-Pop group, BABYMONSTER, debuted their new single "FOREVER." The summer pop anthem follows their record-breaking debut EP [BABYMONS7ER] and arrives just a few months before their highly anticipated first full-length album, which is due later this fall. BABYMONSTER have been recognized across the globe as one to watch - they were named Billboard's K-Pop's Star to Watch, one of NYLON's Bands to Watch in 2024 and, most recently, one of Teen Vogue's Girl Groups to Watch. Their debut EP [BABYMONS7ER] was released on April 1st and sold 400,000 copies upon release, breaking the record for highest first-week album sales for a K-pop girl group. It features smash hits "BATTER UP," "SHEESH," and "LIKE THAT," which was written for the band by global superstar Charlie Puth.

"SHEESH" reached No. 16 on the Billboard Global Chart and No. 33 on the Billboard 200 chart - it has remained on the chart for 12 weeks. Billboard called the song "pop-rap magic" and named it one of the best pop songs of the week upon release. The music video debuted at No. 1 on YouTube's global music video ranking and is soon to reach 260M views. The music video surpassed 100M views on YouTube in just 10-days, setting a new record for the fastest debut song by a K-pop girl group to reach this milestone. The previous record was set by BABYMONSTER's debut single, "BATTER UP," which reached 100M views in 18 days. "BATTER UP" garnered 22.5M views in 24-hours and has since broken two YouTube streaming records - it reached 100M views in just 18 days and 200Mviews in 53 days. BABYMONSTER are set to perform at Japan's largest music festival, Summer Sonic 2024, in Tokyo this summer alongside some of the biggest names on the global music scene, including Jon Batiste, MÅNESKIN, Lil Yachty, Laufey, Tyl, and Greta Van Fleet.
