Library of Congress FCU Sponsors Library of Congress National Book Festival

The Library of Congress Federal Credit Union is proud to once again support the Library of Congress National Book Festival as a Friends Sponsor.

The 2024 National Book Festival will be held Saturday, August 24, from 9 am to 8 pm at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. It will feature more than 90 authors, poets and writers in a range of formats - all celebrating the festival theme, "Books Build Us Up." This marks the17th year the Credit Union has supported the National Book Festival.

"We are honored to once again be a sponsor of the Library of Congress National Book Festival," said Jennifer Hurst, President and CEO of Library of Congress FCU. "This year's theme celebrates the value of reading. We believe the library community advances America's great story. We are proud to support the Library of Congress and all they do."

The National Book Festival was co-founded in 2001 by First Lady Laura Bush and the Library of Congress and is free and open to everyone. Most authors will participate in book signings following their events. In addition, PBS Books will once again sit down with featured authors from this year's Festival to discuss the stories behind their stories during the 2024 Library of Congress National Book Festival Virtual Author Talk Series.

Interested attendees not able to join the Festival in person can tune into sessions throughout the day. Events on several of the stages will be livestreamed on loc.gov/bookfest, and one stage will be televised on C-SPAN2's Book TV. Videos of all presentations will be made available on demand in the weeks after the festival.

The National Book Festival is made possible by the generous support of private- and public-sector sponsors who share the Library's commitment to reading and literacy, led by National Book Festival Co-Chair David M. Rubenstein. Sponsors include General Motors, James Madison Council, Institute of Museum and Library Services, National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, CoStar Group, the John W. Kluge Center, AARP, Friends of the Library of Congress, Diane and Tim Naughton, the Library of Congress Federal Credit Union, and the Junior League of Washington. Media partners of the National Book Festival include C-Span2's Book TV, NPR and the Washington Post.
