Waiving the Checkered Flag for the 2024 Residential Road Program

Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz recapped the 2024 Residential Roads Program results during a press conference on Wednesday, November 13, held on Middlesex Dr.

The 2024 program continued to address both improved and unimproved roads, an initiative stemming from the positive outcome of Issue 24. This result reflects the community's commitment to Toledo's future and enhances public infrastructure for all residents.

Mayor Kapszukiewicz emphasized that the repair of Toledo's streets is crucial not only for aesthetics but also for safety, accessibility, and the city's overall well-being. He noted how safer streets enhance the quality of life, public health, environmental standards, and community connectedness.

The Mayor highlighted key achievements of the 2024 Residential Road Program:

Mayor Kapszukiewicz applauded the ongoing impact of the 1/4% levy approved by voters in 2020, which ensures a steady investment in roads.

"Each year, this funding has allowed us to repave hundreds of residential roads and maintain roughly 50 lane miles, reinforcing Toledo as a city committed to progress and infrastructure," Mayor Kapszukiewicz said. "Our roads program is a shining example of our city's success."
