Weekend Lane Closures on I-75 in Clayton, Fulton for Resurfacing Project
Expect Traffic Delays
ATLANTA, GA - The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors install lane closures on I-75 this weekend to begin a resurfacing project from the I-75/I-285 interchange in Clayton County to SR 54/University Avenue in Fulton County. This resurfacing project will produce a smoother ride for drivers, preserve the lifecycle of the road, eliminate holes and cracks, while also improving the condition of the deteriorating roadway.
Weather and on-site conditions permitting, alternating single right or left lanes will be closed on I-75 between University Avenue and the I-75/I-285 interchange beginning 9 p.m. on Friday, August 23 until 6 a.m. on Monday.
This $46 M project is scheduled for completion in summer 2025.
Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through the work zone during the project work hours. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
