Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

A suspect was arrested this morning following an armed robbery at a business last night. On October 22, 2024, just after 7:00PM, officers were dispatched to a massage parlor in the area of Shaw/Dewitt. Witnesses reported that an adult male entered the business, brandished a handgun, and robbed an employee of cash before leaving in a car. Thankfully, no one was injured, and no gunshots were fired during the crime.

Using private surveillance cameras and our city camera network, officers and detectives were able to identify the suspect as 24-year-old Victor Vargas of Clovis. This morning, detectives arrested Vargas near Shaw/Minnewawa, and this afternoon, they served a search warrant at his home. Three air soft guns were located during the search, and detectives are working to confirm if any of them match the description of the handgun used last night. Vargas has been booked into Fresno County Jail for robbery.
