Vulnerable House Republicans Desperately Try to Take Credit for Investments They Already Voted to Repeal

Vulnerable House Republicans are trying to take credit for provisions within the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) that they have previously voted to cut or repeal altogether.

The vulnerable House Republicans desperately hoping their constituents overlook their hypocrisy on the campaign trail are :

  • Rep. Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06)

  • Rep. David Valadao (CA-22)

  • Rep. Young Kim (CA-40)

  • Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01)

  • Rep. Don Bacon (NE-02)

  • Rep. Tom Kean Jr. (NJ-07)

  • Rep. Nick LaLota (NY-01)

  • Rep. Anthony D'Esposito (NY-04)

  • Rep. Mike Lawler (NY-17)

  • Rep. Marc Molinaro (NY-19)

  • Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05)

  • Rep. Jen Kiggans (VA-02)

Every single one of these vulnerable members voted to cut these energy investments earlier this Congress, and the majority of House Republicans have voted 23 times on the House floor to gut key provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
"Now that they're back home in their districts, vulnerable House Republicans are scrambling to cover up their unpopular votes that would harm the economy and their communities. Their records speak for themselves, however, and voters will send them packing in November for putting loyalty to Trump and the far-right over their constituents."
