Diplomacy: accreditation of new ambassadors from Serbia – Nepal – Burundi

On Friday 25 October, at a lunch held at the Hotel Hermitage, Ms Isabelle Berro-Amadei, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, received H.E. Ms Ana Hrustanovic, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia; H.E. Mr Sudhir Bhattarai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal; and H.E. Mr Isaïe Kubwayo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Burundi.

The diplomats presented their credentials to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince during the morning.

Following a career in the private sector, including as a journalist, H.E. Ms Ana Hrustanovic joined the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro in 2004, as Public Relations Coordinator in the Office of the Minister. She then served as First Counsellor at the Serbian Embassy in Rome. From 2016 to 2023, she was Serbia's Ambassador to the European Union in Brussels. In 2024, she was appointed Serbia's Ambassador to France.

H.E. Mr Sudhir Bhattarai, who holds an MSc in Physics, is a career diplomat who joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1995, working in a number of different departments. He served as First Secretary to Nepal's Permanent Representation to the United Nations in New York, before becoming a Counsellor at Nepal's Embassy in Saudi Arabia from 2012 to 2014. H.E. Mr Sudhir Bhattarai served at Nepal's Embassy in Belgium and Representation to the European Union from 2017 to 2021. He is currently Nepal's Ambassador to France and Andorra, and the Nepalese Permanent Delegate to UNESCO.

H.E. Mr Isaïe Kubwayo began his career as a teacher, before being entrusted with a variety of roles at the University of Burundi, including advisor and Chief of Staff to the Vice Chancellor. He served as a consultant at the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva from 1999 to 2001. In 2006, H.E. Mr Isaïe Kubwayo was appointed First Counsellor at Burundi's Embassy in Paris. From 2012 to 2014, he served as Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Relations and International Cooperation, before being appointed as Burundi's Ambassador to Morocco. He is currently Burundi's Ambassador to France, Portugal and Spain.
