BOZEMAN - Registration is now open for a new professional development course offered by Montana State University for faculty, staff and Montana residents called Being a Leader and the Effective Exercise of Leadership.
The 40-hour course runs between January and May. It aims to teach participants how to see leadership skills as part of their own self-expression; to help motivate themselves and their teams; and to see their own roles as an opportunity to contribute to something bigger.
Being a Leader and the Effective Exercise of Leadership has been offered through the California State University System, Harvard Business School, Loyola University, University of Ottawa and five international locations as well as the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Jeri Echeverria, former executive vice chancellor of the California State University System and founder of the Foundation for Ontological Leadership Education, will be one of the course instructors.
The course will include hybrid, in-person and online options. Multiple readings are required prior to the beginning of the course, which will have both in-person and online meetings.
Early registration is encouraged, as space is limited. Registration costs $500 for MSU employees and $1,000 for Montana residents. Registration forms are online at na.eventscloud.com/ereg/eventid817419.
The course is a collaboration between multiple MSU offices, including the Leadership Fellows Certificate Program, the Office of Research and Economic Development, the Center for Faculty Excellence, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and University Facilities Management.
