Detectives Seek Public Assistance Identifying Assault Suspect, Three Witnesses

Seattle Police detectives with the Homicide & Assault Unit are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a South Seattle assault suspect and three witnesses.

On June 22nd, at about 8:00 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of an assault in the 5300 block of South Henderson Street. The victim was an elderly Asian man. He was assaulted by an unidentified black male suspect, who then ran into Be'er Sheva Park.

The suspect also used a derogatory term for an Asian American while assaulting the victim. When police arrived, the suspect was still assaulting the elderly man. He then ran from officers into the Lake Washington Apartments, located at 9061 Seward Park Avenue South, and entered into building #30.

The suspect is believed to live at the Lake Washington Apartments. Three witnesses to the assault are also pictured below.
