Media Alert: Home Affairs Committee to Undertake an Oversight Visit to Lindela Repatriation Centre

Parliament, Wednesday, 9 October 2024 - The Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs will tomorrow conclude the week-long oversight in Gauteng with a visit to Lindela Repatriation Centre. The visit seeks to assess the living conditions of detained undocumented foreign nationals.

The committee will also assess security at the facility following the escape of 69 foreign nationals earlier this year.
