Jakarta, 29 July 2024: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe held a meeting with a delegation of Japanese parliamentarians led by Motegi Toshimitsu, representatives from the Indonesian startup company GOTO.JK, and the Goto Impact Foundation at E-DISC. The meeting delved into exploring further cooperation on the importance of the sharing economy and the enhancement of startup ecosystems between ASEAN countries and Japan.

GoTo was founded in 2021 through the merger of two unicorn companies: Gojek (founded in 2010), which provides ride-sharing and delivery services, and Tokopedia (founded in 2009), one of the largest e-commerce operator in Indonesia. The company was listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2022. The Goto Impact Foundation, an affiliate of Goto, supports startups and human resources working to solve social and environmental problems in Indonesia, such as reducing waste, improving access to water, and strengthening resilience to disasters.
