Nation’s Leading Professional Group for Fertility Care Professionals Calls for Passage of Right to IVF Act

For Immediate Release

Washington, DC - The American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) applauds Majority Leader Schumer's decision to seek reconsideration of the Right to IVF Act. If passed, this pro-family building bill will protect the rights of Americans to seek the medical services they may need to have children and ensure no healthcare provider faces legal consequences for trying to help their patients as they seek to build their families.

This legislation also increases access to IVF treatments for all Americans by mandating that employer-sponsored insurance plans and other public insurance plans cover fertility treatment. Significantly, it would ensure the federal government does right by its own employees by providing coverage for active-duty military, veterans, and civilian staff.

Access to reproductive medicine, including fertility care, has emerged as a key issue in the 2024 presidential elections, with both major party tickets indicating their support for greater access to these vital treatments.

We call on senators in both parties to cast their votes in support of this legislation.
