Palmdale Playhouse Announces Auditions for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

PALMDALE, CA - The Palmdale Playhouse is thrilled to bring the whimsical world of Willy Wonka to life with open auditions for the beloved production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! This timeless tale promises to enchant audiences of all ages, and we are excited to welcome both seasoned adult performers and young stars ages 10-17 to audition to be part of this extraordinary journey.

"This production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a wonderful opportunity for our youth to explore their creativity and for the community to come together in support of the arts," said Palmdale Mayor Austin Bishop. "We can't wait to see our talented residents shine on stage and bring this classic story to life!"

The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory - but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka's world of pure imagination, featuring chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all revealed by Wonka's curious Oompa-Loompas. We're seeking young actors eager to step into the iconic roles of Charlie Bucket, Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde and Mike Teevee, as well as adult actors for other parts, including Willy Wonka himself. This is an incredible opportunity for young performers to shine and be part of a magical community production that audiences of all ages will adore.

Auditions for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will take place at the Palmdale Playhouse, located at 38334 10th St. East, with adult auditions for those aged 18+ on Friday, November 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, November 23 from 2-5 p.m. Youth auditions for those aged 10-17 years will occur on Saturday, November 23,

from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-up youth auditions will be offered, first-come, first-served and time permitting, on Saturday, November 23 from 8-9 a.m. Registration for an audition is recommended to ensure a spot. Callbacks for both adults and youth will happen on Sunday, November 24, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Successful cast members should be prepared to mark their calendars! Rehearsals will be held on Friday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings. Beginning January 4, 2025. Performances are scheduled for Friday, March 28 and April 4 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 29 and April 5 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, March 30 and April 6 at 1 p.m. Join us for this unforgettable adventure as the stage transforms into Willy Wonka's whimsical world of sweets and surprises.
