Tan Zhemin attends Tengchong Scientists Forum

On 6 December, the University Presidents Forum of 2024 Tengchong Scientists Forum was held in Tengchong City, Yunnan Province. With the theme of "Artificial Intelligence Enabled Education: Opportunities and Challenges", the forum brought together 120 academicians, 59 university presidents, more than 300 young experts and scholars and more than 600 entrepreneurs to discuss the new opportunities and challenges of the development of education and science in the context of artificial intelligence. Tan Zhemin, President of Nanjing University and Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech.

Focusing on the theme of "Opportunities and Challenges: Integration of Artificial Intelligence and Education", Tan discussed the new features of the future intelligent era, and proposed that colleges and universities should proactively respond to the new ecology of higher education in the era of AI, and promote deep changes in education and teaching. He introduced NJU's practice of AI to comprehensively empower innovations in teaching and research. Tanstressed the need to strengthen the construction of AI application ethics and application norms, and emphasized that colleges and universities should always adhere to the original intention of education.
