Brian Daugherty, who has worked for the City of Arlington for 17 years and has led impactful programs in the community, has been named Code Compliance director in Fort Worth.
"We are looking forward to working with Brian to help the City of Fort Worth continue to grow and build equitable, thriving and creative communities," said Assistant City Manager Valerie Washington. "We will rely on his knowledge, experience and innovation to assist the residents of Fort Worth as we take Code Compliance services to the next level."
In Arlington, he has been Code Compliance director since 2019 and previously was field operations manager, dangerous and substandard structures program supervisor, and a code compliance officer.
In Arlington, Daugherty led successful implementation of a short-term rental ordinance, established the Neighborhood Enhancement Team and created a successful mobile tool-sharing program.
Daugherty has a bachelor's degree in organizational management from Mercy College. He is a member of the International City Managers Association.
While serving in Arlington, Daugherty led his team to win the International Code Council Community Service Award for 2022.
A 20-year resident of Fort Worth, Daugherty begins work here on June 24.
