Volusia County Schedules Garbage and Recycling Makeup Day for Unincorporated Areas on Saturday

Volusia County Solid Waste has scheduled a makeup day for garbage and recycling collection that will take place Saturday, Oct. 12, for residents in unincorporated areas who did not receive collection on Thursday, Oct. 10, and Friday, Oct. 11. Yard waste will not be collected on this makeup day.

Residents should place their trash at the regular collection point by 6 a.m. Regular yard trash collection will resume as scheduled next week. Standard residential solid waste collection guidelines will apply for garbage and recycling as follows:

  • Garbage pickup service includes the blue 95-gallon cart and two additional 32-gallon containers.
  • Garbage and recycling should be placed at the collection point by 6 a.m.
  • Construction and demolition debris, such as aluminum siding, tile, screening, and drywall, are not included in normal residential waste collection services.

Residents within the incorporated areas should contact their city's solid waste department for information about their collection schedules. Residents can stay updated by downloading the Volusia Emergency Management app, following the County's social media channels, or visiting www.volusia.org. Residents can also call the Citizens Information Center at 866-345-0345 until 5 p.m. today for storm-related inquiries.
