BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - As part of its Music at the Forefront series, Bowling Green State University will host a free, public concert featuring Detroit-based group Hub New Music at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, in Bryan Recital Hall at Moore Musical Arts Center.

Founded in 2013, Hub features a distinctive quartet of flute, clarinet, violin and cello and actively collaborates with celebrated composers on projects that traverse rich musical landscapes. The group has performed at renowned venues such as the Kennedy Center, Morgan Library, Tokyo's Suntory Hall, Williams Center for the Arts, Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center, London's King's Place and Soka Performing Arts Center.

The ensemble - featuring Michael Avitabile, Gleb Kanasevich, Meg Rohrer and Jesse Christeson - has been called "contemporary chamber trailblazers" by The Boston Globe and a "prime mover of piping hot 21st century repertoire" by The Washington Post. Garnering consistent acclaim, including a Grammy Award nomination for Best Contemporary Classical Composition, Hub recently released its fourth album, "A Distance, Intertwined," earlier this summer.

As educators, Hub is also dedicated to empowering future artists and will work closely with BGSU students this fall and next spring as part of the annual Klingler ElectroAcoustic Residency.
