Troop C DWI arrests July 16 - July 18, 2024

On July 16, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Aragon Z. Burgess, age 20 of Freeport, NY for the class "D" felony of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the third degree and the misdemeanors of Driving While Intoxicated, False Personation and Obstructing Governmental Administration. Troopers were dispatched to a one vehicle crash on State Highway 17 in Roscoe. Troopers located a Toyota Camry off the left shoulder in an embankment and observed Burgess get out of the vehicle. After an investigation and performing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests poorly, Burgess was arrested. While on scene, Troopers discovered that the vehicle Burgess was in, was stolen. Troopers later found out that Burgess provided Troopers with a fake name at the time of arrest. Burgess was processed and transported to the Delaware County Correctional Facility for Centralized Arraignment. He's scheduled to appear at the Colchester Town Court on August 14, 2024.

On July 17, 2024, at approximately 2:33 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Sierra R. Dwyer, age 28 of Ithaca, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers on Ferguson Road in Dryden observed a vehicle with vehicle and traffic violations and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Dwyer, a Trooper smelled on odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment. After performing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests poorly, Dwyer was arrested. Her reportable B.A.C was .16%. She was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Dryden Town Court on August 14, 2024, then turned over to a sober third party.

On July 17, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Tasha M. Vincent, age 32 of Ithaca, NY for the felony of Driving While Intoxicated (with a prior conviction within 10 years). A Trooper on East Shore Drive in Ithaca observed a vehicle speeding and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Vincent, the Trooper observed characteristics associated with alcohol impairment. After an investigation, Vincent was arrested. Her reportable B.A.C was .13%. Vincent was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Ithaca Town Court on August 27, 2024, then released to a sober third party.

On July 17, 2024, at approximately 11:37 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Corie T. Brundage, age 52 of Oneonta, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A Trooper on County Road 9 in Oneonta observed a vehicle failing to use its designated lane and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Brundage, the Trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage. After performing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests poorly, Brundage was arrested. His reportable B.A.C was .14%. Brundage was processed and issued appearance tickets to the Oneonta Town Court on August 15, 2024.

On July 18, 2024, at approximately 12:12 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested Philip E. Walker, age 58 of Ithaca, NY for the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated. A Trooper on East Shore Drive in Lansing observed a vehicle make a vehicle and traffic infraction and initiated a traffic stop. While interviewing Walker, the Trooper smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and other characteristics associated with impairment. After performing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests poorly, Walker was arrested. His reportable B.A.C was .12%. Walker was issued appearance tickets to the Lansing Town Court on September 3, 2024, then turned over to a sober third party.

On July 18, 2024, at approximately 12:15 a.m., New York State Police at Binghamton arrested Shamirah R. Hauer, age 26 of Port Crane, NY for the class "D" felony of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the third degree and the misdemeanors of Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree and Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers were dispatched to check on the welfare of Hauer and learned that she might be operating a stolen vehicle. Troopers were later dispatched to a crash with the described vehicle on Upper Stella Ireland Road in and Hayes Road in Maine. While interviewing Hauer, Troopers observed characteristics associated with impairment. After performing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests poorly, she was arrested. Troopers also confirmed that the vehicle she was driving, was in fact stolen. She was processed and turned over to the Broome County Correctional Facility for Centralized Arraignment.
