Taft Partner Marcia Fudge Elected to Cleveland Clinic Board of Trustees

Taft is pleased to announce that Cleveland partner Marcia L. Fudge has been elected to the Cleveland Clinic Board of Trustees. The former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) joined Taft in May and currently serves as its firmwide Chair of Public Policy.

The Board of Trustees serves in an advisory role to the Cleveland Clinic Board of Directors-the primary governing body of Cleveland Clinic responsible for ensuring the organization's mission and status as an Ohio nonprofit corporation and tax-exempt charitable organization is upheld. The Cleveland Clinic selects its trustees on the basis of their experience and expertise in a variety of areas beneficial to the Cleveland Clinic Health System.

Fudge brings a wealth of exceptional national leadership experience to the Board of Trustees. Prior to serving as U.S. HUD Secretary, she served as the U.S. representative for Ohio's 11th congressional district from 2008 to 2021. In 1999, she was elected the first female and first African American mayor of Warrensville Heights, Ohio. In the community, Fudge is deeply involved with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, as a current member of the Greater Cleveland Alumnae Chapter, and has served as past national president for the organization. She most recently served as Co-Chair for Vice President Kamala Harris' presidential campaign.

"It is a profound honor to join the Cleveland Clinic Board of Trustees. I look forward to contributing to this world-class institution that is at the forefront of healthcare innovation, patient care, and community well-being. Alongside my fellow board members, we are ensuring the Cleveland Clinic continues its legacy of excellence for generations to come," said Fudge.
