Follow trusted sources for weather updates

The City of Galveston is closely monitoring Hurricane Beryl and its potential impacts on the island. While Hurricane Beryl is not currently tracking for a direct hit on Galveston, we do anticipate some effects.

Understand your elevation and risks and make the preparations you feel are warranted. For example, if your area flooded during Tropical Storm Alberto, you should anticipate effects from Hurricane Beryl.

Also, know that the City of Galveston is under a Coastal Flood Watch and tidal flooding in low-lying areas is likely. This will likely affect the island's West End, parts of downtown and low elevation areas near Offatts Bayou.

Remember, the forecasts have been shifting in this storm so continue to monitor weather throughout the weekend in case of changes. Please follow these sources for the most up-to-date information and forecasts.
