GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The purpose of this MARADMIN is to solicit
nominations for the subject awards. The reference (in the process
of being revised) provides eligibility, criteria, and submission
procedures. The Commander, Marine Corps Systems Command and the
Marine Corps Association will present the Higgins, Stoner, Roebling,
Kreitzer, and Bates Awards for Acquisition Innovation and
Excellence. The Higgins Award is presented to a Marine Corps
officer, the Stoner Award is presented to a Marine Corps staff
noncommissioned officer (SNCO), and the Roebling Award is presented
a Marine Corps acquisition civilian employee. These awards superior
professional excellence and/or innovation in the pursuit of
acquisition, fielding, and/or support of systems and equipment to
the operating forces. The Kreitzer Award is presented to a Marine
or civilian acquisition employee who inspires and motivates others
by exhibiting the highest standards of leadership, courage, and
accomplishment in their command's business. The Bates Award is
presented to a Marine or civilian acquisition employee who is
hand-selected by the commander for an extraordinary contribution
toward the achievement of the command's goals and major initiatives.
2. Eligibility. Any Marine Corps officer or SNCO may be nominated
by his/her supervisor as long as the Marine does not have
an effective date of resignation or retirement before to 1 September
2025. Any Government civilian acquisition professional currently
employed by the Marine Corps may be nominated by his/her supervisor.
Previous award recipients are ineligible. Award nominees not
selected as recipients in previous years are eligible. Award
nominations must be based on accomplishments achieved during
calendar year 2024.
3. Nominations must be in the format outlined in enclosure (2) of
the reference. Include the nominating organization's address and
his/her point of contact's name, phone number, and email address.
Packages must be submitted to [email protected] and received
NLT 21 November 2024.
4. The awards will be presented in the spring/summer of 2025.
