Upcoming Rock Island Public Library Closings

Rock Island Public Library buildings will be closed, and bookmobile services unavailable on Wednesday, August 21, so that all staff can attend Staff Development training.

Outside book returns and online services will continue to be available. Phone and email messages will be returned during normal hours on Thursday, Aug. 22. Thursday hours are as follows: Rock Island Downtown Library and Rock Island Southwest Branch, 10 am to 6 pm, and the Rock Island Watts-Midtown Branch,9 am to 8 pm. The Rock Island Downtown Library (401 19^th Street) only will be closed from 5 pm, Friday, August 30 through Saturday, August 31 for the Rock Island Grand Prix kart races. Library branches will be open normal hours on Saturday, Aug. 31.

All library locations will be closed Monday, Sept. 2 in recognition of Labor Day.
