GTA's Jessica Simmons named to UGA 40 Under 40 Class of 2024

Deputy State CIO and Georgia Broadband Program Executive Director Jessica Simmons has been selected as an honoree in the University of Georgia's prestigious 40 Under 40 Class of 2024.

The 40 Under 40 program celebrates the personal, professional and philanthropic achievements of successful UGA graduates under the age of 40.

Ms. Simmons oversees the state's efforts to close the digital divide and ensure that Georgians have access to high-speed internet no matter where they live. She came to GTA in July 2021 after serving as deputy commissioner at the Georgia Department of Revenue and previously as chief of staff to the Secretary of State. Ms. Simmons is among the youngest Georgians to hold senior leadership roles in three critical state agencies. She serves on the UGA School of Public and International Affairs Alumni Board and served as this year's fundraising lead for the Georgia Legislative Outlook that raised over $35,000 for scholarships and other SPIA initiatives.
