On 22 October, Mark Rachovides, President Emeritus of Euromines, delivered a powerful address at the 2024 MINEX Mining and Exploration Forum Europe in Prague, underscoring Euromines' commitment to a sustainable and resilient Europe with secure access to critical raw materials. The forum, held on 22-23 October, provided a key platform for industry leaders to discuss the future of Europe's mineral supply.
In the opening session, Driving Europe's Raw Materials Independence, Mr. Rachovides moderated a panel focused on fostering new partnerships to reduce risks in mineral value chains. He highlighted how the Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA) can shape responsible supply networks, aligning with Euromines' Manifesto to strengthen Europe's industry and advance the green transition.
Later in the day, Mr. Rachovides participated in the panel Bridging the Gap Between Miners and Financiers, where he emphasised the pressing need to expedite funding for raw material projects across Europe. His insights reflected the urgency and opportunity for Europe to accelerate its pathway to resource security.
