Alyssa N. Langel has been named the new director of alumni engagement at University of the Ozarks. Her first day will be Aug. 19.

Langel has a bachelor's degree in business administration and an MBA with a focus in management, both from Rogers State University in Claremore, Okla. She worked at Rogers State for eight years, including four years as a student-worker. She served as interim assistant director for the university's First Year Experience program and three years as executive assistant to the president. She also has experience as a classroom teacher.

Langel is a native of Oologah, Okla., and a graduate of Oologah-Talala Public Schools.

"As an individual from a small town and with previous work experience at a small regional university, it is with great enthusiasm that I join the University of Ozarks family," Langel said. "I am excited to work together with the development team and grow meaningful relationships with alumni, students, and other employees. I am greatly passionate about education, specifically higher education, so it is with enthusiasm and gratitude that I pursue this opportunity."

She is married to Cole Langel. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, fishing and turkey and deer hunting. She also enjoys spending quality time outdoors with friends and family as well as reading and baking.
