Cherokee Nation Citizenship Registration and Photo ID Field Events coming across Reservation

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - Throughout the remainder of the year, Cherokee Nation will be hosting several citizenship registration and photo ID field events across the reservation with a few at large events scheduled.

"We want to invite all Cherokee Nation citizens who need an updated photo ID to join us for one of these field events," said Cherokee Nation Deputy Secretary of State Canaan Duncan. "We understand not everyone can make the drive to Tahlequah to our tribal complex, so we are taking our Registration Department services out to our communities for convenience."

Citizenship registration and photo ID field events are scheduled throughout the remainder of the year, leading into 2025. Citizens who wish to come should bring an up-to-date driver's license or other government photo ID. Cherokee Vote along with other Cherokee Nation programs and services will also be in attendance.

For timely processing, citizens should submit the necessary paperwork no later than 30 minutes prior to close of an event. Applications submitted after that time may be subject to increased wait times. Time, date and location for the events are as follows.

In July:

  • 7/25 - Muskogee, Three Rivers Health Center from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.

In August:

  • 8/18 - Catoosa, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • 8/19 - Catoosa, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa from 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • 8/20 - Catoosa, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa from 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • 8/27 - South Coffeyville, Native American Fellowship Community Bldg. from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.

In September:

  • 9/12 - Gore, Gore High School Cafeteria 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • 9/13 - Roland, Roland Casino 10am-1pm, 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • 9/28 - Vinita, Eastern Trails Museum/Vinita Library, time to be decided.

In October:

  • 10/3 - Owasso, Owasso High School from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • 10/10 - Nowata, Cherokee Nation No-we-ta Community Building from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • 10/14 - Chattanooga, TN - Trail of Tears Conference
  • 10/24 - Tulsa, Greenwood Cultural Center from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.

In November:

  • 11/7 - Adair, Adair High School from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • 11/12 - Stilwell, Stilwell High School from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • 11/26 - Locust, Locust Grove Cafeteria from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.

In December:

  • 12/5 - Sapulpa, Sapulpa High School from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • 12/12 - West Siloam Springs, Casino from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • 12/13 - Bentonville, Arkansas, Museum of Native American History from Noon - 5 p.m.

Locations and event times are subject to change and will be updated through Cherokee Nation social media.
