TFD Responds to Multiple Small Structure Fires on South Maxwell Boulevard

July 21, 2024

On July 21, at 12:26 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to a possible structure fire located on South Maxwell Boulevard. Upon arrival, TFD crews found heavy fire coming from multiple small structures. Firefighters quickly began to extinguish the fire while protecting the nearby area. A search confirmed that nobody was inside the buildings at the time of the fire. There were no injuries reported on scene. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The Tallahassee Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Leon County Sheriff's Office, Leon County EMS, City of Tallahassee Utilities and the Woodville Volunteer Fire Department.

TFD reminds residents to regularly check their smoke alarms to ensure they are in proper working condition. Smoke alarms provide the early warning necessary to escape a potentially deadly fire. A properly installed and maintained smoke alarm can alert you and your family to a fire 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
