Updates on Tropical Storm Helene

The Tropical Storm (TS) Helene effects in our area are expected on Thursday (26 Sep) early to mid-morning.

TS Helene is expected to become a very large storm reaching out 230 miles from the center of the storm.

The impacts in our area are expected to tropical force winds with winds ranging 40-60 miles an hour.

Rain fall estimates are expected to be between 2-4 inches with 6 inches being the upper end. Local street and yard flooding is possible.

Brevard County Schools is anticipating an announcement on 25 Sep around noon for Thursday activities.

Brevard County EOC remains at a monitoring level. The County is not under a local state of emergency.

The EOC anticipates the weather service to issue a Tropical Storm Watch sometime 25 Sep with a Tropical Storm Warning late Wednesday evening.

The City of Titusville opened our sandbag area today for self-filling operations. Staff will be available at our Singleton yard to assist residents. These operations will end at 5pm.

The City will continue with normal operations at this time. There may be an alteration to the solid waste operations schedule on Thursday.
