Announcement from Fire Chief Andrasevits

Mindy has served as Fire Chief of Eudora since November 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Missouri Western State University and a Master of Science degree in Public Administration/Emergency Services Management from Columbia Southern University. With over two decades of experience in emergency response, public safety education, and risk management, Chief Andrasevits has also given back to the community by dedicating eight years to teaching in the public school system and another eight years to corporate management and training.

"I have enjoyed my time in Eudora," Mindy says. "It is an amazing fire department and a wonderful community!"

This transition does not signal the end of her career in public safety, though, as Chief Andrasevits will soon begin her new position as a Regional Director for the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The NFPA is the world's leading resource and authority on fire, electrical, and other related hazards. "I have enjoyed a varied career. This opportunity is a wonderful culmination of everything I've done so far," added Chief Andrasevits.

Mindy's last day serving as Fire Chief will be Friday, September 6. An appreciation reception recognizing her service to the Eudora community is currently scheduled to take place Tuesday, September 3, inside the City Commission Chambers of City Hall, beginning at 3:30 PM.
