City Administrative Offices to close to observe the 2024 Thanksgiving Holiday

The City of Norman Administrative Offices will be closed 11/28/24 and 11/29/24 to observe the Thanksgiving Holiday. See below for additional details regarding the Solid Waste Division, City Transit services and Parks & Recreation.

SOLID WASTE COLLECTION

The Solid Waste Division will be closed on Thanksgiving Day - Thursday 11/28/24.
Trash, Yard Waste and Recycling collection will be delayed one day, beginning with those customers that have a Thursday pick-up:

  • Thursday, 11/28/24, service will be done on Friday, 11/29/24.
  • Customers regularly serviced on Friday, 11/29/24, will be picked up on Saturday, 11/30/24.

The Compost Facility and the Transfer Station will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, 11/28/24, but will reopen on Friday, 11/29/24, with normal operating hours.

TRANSIT

The City Transit service - EMBARK Norman - will not operate on Thursday 11/28/24. Find a schedule and real-time information at embarknorman.com.

The City's Norman On-Demand service will operate on its normal schedule. Find more information about this service at city.ridewithvia.com/norman.

PARKS & RECREATION

All recreation centers will be closed on Thursday, 11/28/24, and Friday, 11/29/24. Westwood Golf and Tennis, located at 2400 Westport Drive, will be closed Thursday, 11/28/24, and open regular hours on Friday, 11/29/24.

The Young Family Athletic Center will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day, 11/28/24, and open regular hours on Friday, 11/29/24.

The Adult Wellness and Education Center, at 602 N. Findlay Avenue, will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, 11/27/24, and remain closed through Friday, 11/29/24.

Norman Animal Welfare will be closed 11/28/24 and 11/29/24.

The NPD Records Division will be closed 11/28/24.
