LITTLE ROCK - The City of Little Rock's Age-Friendly Little Rock Commission will host a first-of-its-kind summit this week to focus on resources available to residents as part of a livable community. The summit and expo, called Creating Community Connections, is Thursday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the West Central Community Center, 8616 Colonel Glenn Road.

Participants will learn more about the overall needs of Little Rock residents trying to navigate the City and its resources, and the summit is championed by the Age-Friendly Little Rock Commission, which is dedicated to making Little Rock the best possible community in which to live as you age.

The summit includes age-friendly programs related to fitness, insurance and legal needs, transportation options and other ways for residents to live in place longer as they age. More than 20 exhibitors will be in attendance, and participants will be eligible for door prizes.

Summit speakers include representatives from the City of Little Rock, AARP, Arkansas Senior Health Insurance Information Program, Central Arkansas Library System, Center for Arkansas Legal Services, CareLink and RockRegion Metro. A full agenda is available here.

The event is free, but registration is required. Click here to register or call (877) 926-8300.
