News Release > Entergy Mississippi completes power restoration following Hurricane Francine
09/13/2024
JACKSON, Miss. - Entergy Mississippi has successfully restored power to all customers whose homes and businesses could safely take electricity following Hurricane Francine. Crews worked as quickly and safely as possible to restore power to more than 11,000 customers who lost power after the storm moved through the state.
Damage assessment identified damages to 34 poles, 14 transformers, 13 cross arms, and nearly 7 miles of downed wire.
A workforce of more than 1,500 linemen, vegetation workers, damage assessors and support personnel worked diligently throughout the restoration process. Crews have now been released to assist Entergy Louisiana and Entergy New Orleans teams where needed.
If a customer still does not have power, it could be because of damage to the home's outside electrical equipment, such as the weather head. Such damage must be repaired by a licensed electrician before Entergy Mississippi can safely restore power to the structure. Please report a power outage using one of the following options:
We also remind customers that in storm restoration Entergy clears downed trees and limbs that interfere with our power lines and equipment to facilitate safe service restoration. However, customers are responsible for removing vegetation debris that remains on their property.
