On October 24, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a disturbance and possible assault in an apartment suite in the first one hundred block of Balmoral Street.

Police conducted a wellness check at the reported suite of interest, when they observed a female covertly ask them for help.

The female indicated that she had been assaulted by the other occupants in the suite. Four individuals were taken into custody and the victim in her 20s was transported to hospital for injuries to her head and upper body. She was upgraded to stable condition.

Anthony Joseph KOSTANJEVIC, (37), of Winnipeg

Justin James ANDERSON, (33), of Winnipeg

Cadence Grace MCILWAIN-COLLARD, (37), of Winnipeg

Tanisha Caitlin FLETT, (29), of Winnipeg

All four accused were charged with Kidnapping, Robbery and Assault with a Weapon and detained in custody.

Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation and determined the victim and the four accused were known to each other. The victim was confronted about a previous issue and forced back to the apartment suite where she was repeatedly assaulted, robbed of her property, and held captive. She managed to escape and was dragged back to the suite, at which point a witness called police.
