Cedar Falls Fire Prevention Week Open House

In recognition of Fire Prevention Week, Cedar Falls Fire Rescue will host an open house on Tuesday, October 8, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Public Safety Center (4600 South Main Street).

All members of the community are invited to attend this free event. During the open house, guests can explore rescue vehicles and equipment, chat with fire personnel, and kids will have the opportunity to spray water from a fire hose. Snacks will be provided courtesy of Cedar Falls Hy-Vee.

Cedar Falls Pink Patch Project merchandise will also be for sale at the event. This includes pink fire and police patches for $10 each and short-sleeve t-shirts ($20), long-sleeve shirts ($25), and hooded sweatshirts ($30). Shirts are offered in sizes small through 3XL and are gray in color. All proceeds from the pink patch items will be donated to the local Beyond Pink TEAM.

About Fire Prevention Week

Fire Prevention Week (FPW) is observed nationally from the Sunday to Saturday in which October 9 falls. The goal of FPW is to raise awareness about fire safety and provide information to the public on the importance of fire prevention and how to stay safe in the event of a fire. FPW in 2024 is from October 6 to October 12 and the theme is 'Smoke Alarms: Make them work for you!'. Learn more about FPW and find resources at www.fpw.org.
