Fireworks Prohibited In Lakeway

In celebration of our nation's birthday, we want you to have a safe experience this holiday! As a friendly reminder, the shooting off of fireworks is not allowed in the City of Lakeway, and is a violation that could carry a fine up to $500 for each offense. Each year, the Lakeway Police Department typically receives several calls related to fireworks during the 4th of July holiday. The shooting off of fireworks is not only a violation of city ordinance, but can also disturb your neighbors and scare our pets.

There are many other public fireworks displays throughout Central Texas taking place that evening, so be sure to check out some of the area fireworks shows to enjoy with your family. The closest is in Bee Cave at the Hill Country Galleria that evening: https://www.hillcountrygalleria.com/event/independence-day-festival/2145582361.

We also invite you to celebrate the 4th of July Thursday morning along Lakeway Drive during our famous 4th of July parade! The excitement will happen at 8:30 a.m. along Lakeway Drive, with a hot dog reception to follow at the Lakeway Activity Center. You can find more information here on the celebration: https://www.lakeway-tx.gov/718/July-4th-Celebration.

The City of Lakeway wishes you and your family a safe and happy 4th of July holiday!
