The University of Michigan-Flint celebrated its summer and fall graduates during the Fall 2024 Commencement, Dec. 15, at the Riverfront Conference Center. Close to 900 students were eligible to participate. The day featured three ceremonies for undergraduate and graduate students involving the university's five schools and colleges. It was also the first time Chancellor Laurence B. Alexander presided over the festivities, having taken office July 1. Along with Alexander, speakers at the event included Yener Kandogan, interim provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs and interim dean for the School of Management; Michael Behm, U-M regent, who addressed the crowd of graduates and their guests via a recorded video message; and a trio of student speakers.
