‘Lean Into Fall’ – CTL Offers Asynchronous and Live Teaching Resources This Month

During the week of August 19, the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) will offer "Lean into Fall," a mix of asynchronous and live resources and workshops to help faculty prepare for the Fall 2024 semester. Topics will include student engagement, teaching experience and reflection, AI exploration and a syllabus course design consultation clinic.<_o3a_p>

Participants may browse the offerings on their own time or join a one of the multiple live sessions offered by CTL.<_o3a_p>

Participants who register on the Center for Teaching and Learning online form will receive a link to all resources the morning of Aug. 19.<_o3a_p>

Quick Takes for Student Engagement

Ponder a Topic
Reflect on aspects of the teaching experience - such as failure, rigor, attention and compassion - by listening to a one-hour podcast episode that explores teaching topics and using our handy listening guides to reflect on key takeaways.<_o3a_p>

Explore an Issue
Dive into curated resources to address one of the timely concerns instructors may have as the semester begins, such as dealing with AI, creating or refreshing a syllabus and building belonging. Take as much time as needed to read the resources, watch the video series, or join the CTL and IDEAS collaborative Gen AI Discussion Group online workshop on Aug. 22 at 1 p.m., "Staying One Step Ahead: Planning for AI," which is designed to help instructors navigate the usage of AI in their courses.
