PennDOT's Westmoreland County Maintenance Update – Week of September 23, 2024

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 23. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Base repair:

• Route 66 in Washington Township

Box culvert replacement:

• Route 4089 (Hulton Road) in Allegheny Township
• • Road closed. Posted detour:

Cleaning ditch channels:

• Route 271 (Menoher Highway) in Ligonier Township

Edge paving:

• Route 3033 (Jacobs Creek Road) in South Huntington Township
• Route 3033 (Stahl Road) in South Huntingdon Township

Patching:

• Route 1067 (Short Cut Road) in Fairfield Township

• Various routes countywide

Seal coating:

• Route 56 in Saint Clair Township
• Route 271 in Ligonier Township
• Route 711 (New Florence Road) in Ligonier Township
• Route 1001 (Ligonier Street) in New Florence Borough
• Route 1003 (Boswell Road) in Saint Clair Township
• Route 1004 (Thatcher Road) in Fairfield Township
• Route 1005 (Shannon Creek Road) in Saint Clair Township

Shoulder cutting:

Side dozing:

• Route 56 in Saint Clair Township

Slide repair:

• Route 1022 (Latrobe/Crabtree Road) in Unity Township
• Route 2025 (Ankney Hill Road) in Mount Pleasant Township

Crews will pick litter, replace downed and updated signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
