PermitSLO is Moving to the Cloud

Starting on Monday, September 30, anyone who accesses PermitSLO will be using a cloud-based system. You might not notice a difference, but the software is moving away from County-owned servers and going to the cloud. PermitSLO is the public-facing portal of EnerGov, the County's permitting software that is owned by Tyler Technologies.

The County is taking this leap for better reliability, scalability and accessibility of the software.

The storage capacity demand on the servers that host EnerGov (PermitSLO) are failing almost daily and causing the system to be unusable until they are manually restarted by staff. This move to the cloud will provide better reliability for the public who need access to the system. It will also allow for better scalability with future upgrades and feature enhancements.

In order to make this shift to the cloud, PermitSLO will be unavailable from Thursday, September 26 at 5:00 PM through Monday, September 30 at 7:00 AM.

Friday, September 27 is a County holiday so counter service will not be interrupted.

Please note: While the system is down, no payments can be made.

New Credit Card Payment System

With the move to the cloud, County Planning and Building will be launching a new credit card payment system. The new system comes with an enhanced shopping experience.

In addition, starting on September 30, credit card processing fees will be 3.5% per transaction (with a minimum fee of $2.50). The fee for eChecks will be $1.50. These are not County fees and are collected by an outside company for processing costs.

Customers may also continue to remit payment by check either by mail or in-person without incurring a processing fee.
