UC Students Begin Arriving on Campus

Move-In Weekend is August 16-18

UC will be full of activity the weekend of August 16 through 18 as it welcomes new and returning students for the 2024-2025 school year.

While many student-athletes and other groups have already moved in or will be moving in beforehand, the largest group of residential students will arrive beginning Friday, August 16, when new Golden Eagles move in. Returning students will move in Friday afternoon, and move-in will continue Saturday and Sunday. The university expects about 675 students to be housed on campus.

Students who moved in previously will be on hand to help new residents and their parents move into the residence halls.

New student orientation will take place on Saturday and Sunday, and the university's Week of Welcome will kick off with its annual EagleFest on Monday, August 19, at 4:00 on the riverbank lawn.

"We are so excited to have our students here," stated Virginia Moore, UC Vice President and Dean of Students. "We have worked hard over the summer to ensure this weekend goes smoothly, and our Week of Welcome provides many opportunities for new and returning students to meet friends, have fun, and prepare for a successful semester."

The first day of classes on the UC Charleston campus will be Monday, August 19.
