DOE Awards Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office Technical Support Services Contract

CINCINNATI - Today, the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Environmental Management (EM) awarded the Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office (PPPO) Technical Support Services (TSS) contract to Enterprise Technical Assistance Services Inc. (ETAS) of Knoxville, Tennessee, with work to be performed at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant (GDP)/site in Pike County, Ohio, the Paducah GDP/site in Paducah, Kentucky, and the Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office, near Lexington, Kentucky.

The contractor will be required to provide technical and administrative support to assist EM with oversight and management of PPPO cleanup projects. The TSS procurement was conducted as a Small Business Set-Aside Competition under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 562910, Environmental Remediation Services with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees.

EM received two proposals in response to the solicitation, both of which complied with the solicitation instructions and were evaluated for the new contract. Through a healthy and rigorous competition, EM determined the ETAS proposal provided the best value to the government considering organization and management approach, key personnel, past performance, and cost and fee, resulting in a new contract.

For more than 30 years, EM has remained focused on addressing the environmental legacy of nuclear weapons development and nuclear energy research that helped end World War II, win the Cold War and position the United States as a leader in clean nuclear energy. Collectively, EM is delivering results that are protecting the environment, supporting communities and enabling a concerted focus on safely completing the mission sooner and more efficiently.
