CREW statement on Biden Supreme Court reforms

Following President Biden's remarks on his plan to reform the Supreme Court and ensure that there is no immunity for crimes presidents commit while in office, CREW Vice President for Communications Jordan Libowitz released the following statement:

"It is no secret that the Supreme Court is in a legitimacy crisis of its own making, and that its decision in Trump v. United States placed presidents above the law. Congress and the Court must immediately take action on President Biden's calls to ensure presidents are not immune from prosecution for violating the law while in office, as well as a binding Supreme Court Code of Ethics and term limits for Supreme Court justices. These bipartisan, common sense reforms-which CREW has long championed-would ensure that, as John Adams wrote 250 years ago, America is truly a nation of laws, and not of men."
