Americas Partnership Senior Official Travel to Costa Rica to Discuss Plans for the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity Summit Hosted by Costa Rica

Senior Director for International Economics at the National Security Council Nora Todd is traveling to Costa Rica August 21-23 to take part in an Americas Partnership planning meeting focused on the 2025 Americas Partnership Leaders' Summit hosted by Costa Rica. The U.S. delegation includes Senior Coordinator for the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity at the Department of State Ambassador Lisa Kubiske, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs Kevin Sullivan, and Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for the Western Hemisphere Daniel Watson.

In Costa Rica, the delegation is meeting with members of the Costa Rican cabinet and other government and private sector partners to discuss the 2025 Summit. The 2025 Summit follows through on commitments made by Americas Partnership leaders at the inaugural Americas Partnership Leaders' Summit in November 2023.

Costa Rica leads the Americas Partnership digital workforce workstream, which is focused on generating employment opportunities in the technology sectors of the future-including semiconductors, cybersecurity, 5G, and artificial intelligence.

The Americas Partnership founding countries are Barbados, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, the United States, and Uruguay.
