CenterPoint Energy delivers $1.2 million in energy efficiency incentives to Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation

Evansville, Ind. - Dec. 16, 2024 - In collaboration with the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) and Resource Innovations, CenterPoint Energy has supported more than 80 energy efficiency projects across the district. During the EVSC's school board meeting this evening, the company presented a check for nearly $1.2 million, reflecting the project incentives received by the school corporation. "We're pleased to work with the EVSC to identify opportunities for energy savings, while assisting in the enhancement of the spaces where students learn and educators work," said Natalie Hedde, CenterPoint Energy's Vice President, Strategic Business Growth & Engagement. "These improvements offer significant cost savings to the school district while also promoting sustainability goals."As part of this collaboration, various upgrades were made across EVSC facilities to boost operational efficiency and lower energy costs. These improvements included:Installation of interior and exterior lighting systems and controls to improve quality and reduce energy consumption.Modernization of HVAC systems to enhance comfort and energy efficiency.Boiler and chiller system improvements, including tuning and replacements, to optimize performance and energy use.Implementation of energy-efficient kitchen equipment, such as ovens and hot food holding cabinets, to support energy savings and better functionality in school cafeterias."We are thrilled with the support and collaboration of CenterPoint Energy," said EVSC Superintendent Dr. David Smith.
