Date:
June 17, 2024

INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL PARK: Expand your knowledge and join fellow nature enthusiasts for a night of educational fun and wonder. Science Fridays at Indiana Dunes National Park is a monthly series of presentations given by subject matter experts with a different topic each month.
On Friday, June 21st, from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm take part in a family-oriented event focused on water safety and personal preparedness. This month's presentation is moving to the national park's Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk pavilion overlooking Lake Michigan. Join Mary Ann Best from the Miller Beach Water Safety Social Group and Drew Ferguson from the Great Lakes Water Safety Consortium as they share tips on how to stay safe in the big waters of Lake Michigan. Learn about beach hazards that swimmers can anticipate and how to prepare yourself for a safe day at the beach. This event features activities for beachgoers of all ages. You are welcome, and encouraged, to dress for the water!
The Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk pavilion is located at 1000 Riverwalk Drive in Portage. For more information on programs at Indiana Dunes National Park, call 219-395-1882, visit our website, download the official National Park Service app, or view our Facebook page.
