New Refund Request Procedure

September 23, 2024

Effective September 23, 2024, the Minnesota Bankruptcy Court has instituted a new procedure for requesting refunds related to duplicate payments made via Pay.gov and trustee deposits inadvertently made from the wrong account type.

To request a refund from the Court, filers must use a newly created CM/ECF Event, "Request for Refund of Pay.gov Payment Made in Error". To use this event, the filer will need the amount, receipt number, date of payment, and name of payor. Written instructions for using the new event are available on the Court's website under the Filing Guidance tab, in the Attorney Procedures section.

Refund requests for reasons other than duplicate payments made via Pay.gov or trustee deposits made from the wrong account must be made by filing a Motion for Refund of Payment to Court.
