Takapuna Rockpool Exploration

Come join us for a free guided rock pooling experience with Experiencing Marine Reserves.

Come and learn about the amazing world that exists within rockpools and some of the native species that call rocky reef tidal zone home!

This event provides a taster into rock pooling, marine metered squared surveying and rocky shore ecology. Conditions permitting - we will run with light rain.

Te Kura Moana - Experiencing Marine Reserves runs a series of free and subsidised events over the summer months - we rely on your support to make them happen.

Children younger than 5 will not be able to participate. Children under 13 need adult supervision.
This event is funded by the Bobby Stafford Bush Foundation and in partnership with Takapuna North Community Trust and Pupuke Birdsong Project (with thanks to Auckland Council & the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board).

What to bring: Suitable footwear for exploring the rocky shore (covered shoes, gumboots, or dive booties are recommended), sunhat, warm clothes, drink bottle and snacks.

If you are feeling unwell (sore throat, running nose, loss of taste/smell) please let us know prior as soon as possible as you will not be able to attend the event. If you suffer from allergies - please let us know when you arrive.
