East Bank Trail Repairs to Begin Monday, September 30

September 27, 2024 - The City of South Bend Public Works Department announces that repairs on the East Bank Trail over the Leeper Avenue bridge will start Monday, September 30. Repairs will include replacing the bridge decking with concrete and new fencing. The trail will be closed during the repair with detour routes in place.

Leeper Avenue from North Shore Drive to Napoleon Street will also close until repairs are complete. Motorists will detour down Niles Avenue.

The anticipated completion date is mid-November, weather permitting.
